Midna is dead.
The wedding ceremony has been shattered, its defenders defeated, and one of the ritual’s key components destroyed. Yet despite the victory, troubling discoveries suggest the true threat still lies ahead.
Arcane investigations have revealed signs that the ritual’s power continues to flow from somewhere deeper within the dungeon. With only a few hours remaining before the ceremony reaches its final stage, the party must follow the trail to its source and confront whatever awaits them there.
Questions remain unanswered. Why have so many drow abandoned their ancient loyalties? What role does Shar play in the growing darkness beneath the city? And what exactly is being created through this ritual?
Time is running out. The next expedition may determine not only the fate of the dungeon, but the fate of powers far beyond it.
Following the clues uncovered after Midna’s death, the adventurers launched a final assault on the ritual site atop Muiral’s Gauntlet. What they found was an entrenched force of drow, troglodytes, assassins, and cultists all working to protect the ceremony being conducted by the drow matriarch Vlonwelv Auvryndar.
Using the high ground to their advantage, the party struck first. Clever Stitch infiltrated enemy lines under magical concealment, while Monique and Jaxson unleashed devastating arcane attacks against the defenders. Korin’s divine magic illuminated the battlefield, disrupting the darkness upon which many of the enemy forces relied and turning the tide of battle in the party’s favor.
As the fighting intensified, Vlonwelv revealed one final surprise. Through necromantic means, she restored Muiral the Misshapen to unlife, forcing the adventurers to face the legendary guardian once more. Despite the overwhelming odds, the party held their ground. Muiral was destroyed, the ritual’s defenders were broken, and the matriarch herself fell beneath the blades of the heroes.
With Vlonwelv’s death, the ceremony collapsed before Shar and Lolth could be fully brought into the prepared vessels. The remaining defenders fled or surrendered as morale shattered across the battlefield. For the first time since entering this deadly section of Undermountain, the adventurers stood victorious over an entire floor of the dungeon.
Muiral’s Gauntlet now lies in their hands.
Yet even in victory, questions remain. The conspiracy surrounding Shar, the growing instability of magic, and whispers concerning Mystra and the Weave all point toward a deeper mystery still waiting in the darkness below.
